Spring has officially sprung!

When the crocus flowers bloom I think that it is safe to say that spring has arrived! These are the first flowers that I have seen. They look so cheerful among the dead leaves.

It was such a lovely day that Philip and I were able to get out of the house and go for a walk. I am always amazed at how improved both of our temperaments are when we get a little fresh air. :-)
Our destination today was the Fitzpatrick's house and we were lucky enough to arrive while Simon was making cookies. Philip was so happy to help! I think that he also enjoyed the free access to the bowl of grapes. I think that he ate the entire bunch! At least it wasn't chocolate chips, though he had some of those too :-)
The best part yet is that without a nap and all the fresh air he went to bed easily at 8 and I am hopeful that he will stay asleep for the rest of the night!

Teapot Song

Just recently, we received a box in the mail from Eve. Among the goods was the book "I'm a Little Teapot." I have read it to Philip a few times but not much. I was surprised yesterday (while putting some laundry away) when Philip brought the book in sat down and started reciting parts of the rhyme. I must admit that I was quite impressed by his memory skills! And of course it was just too cute that I had to grab the camera. Hope you enjoy! :-)

Trip to PA

This last weekend we took a quick trip PA for little Ruth's baptism.  Well, it was the Melkite Rite and so really it was baptism, confirmation, and first Communion! A very memorable occasion. Ruth was so precious and I was glad to get lots of time holding her. I now that by the next time we see her, she will be entirely different.

Philip had a blast playing with all of his Fitzpatrick cousins! Anything the girls did he was right there in the middle of it too! He will be talking about for weeks to come.
We were really lucky to enjoy 60degree weather!! I was even barefoot in the yard. I can't wait until it warms up that much here too!
Of course time passed too quickly and we were sorry to leave. But the next visit will be here before we know it and we can't wait!

New Arrival

We were very happy to receive word this morning that Steve and Vanessa welcomed little Ruth Zelie into their family. From what we hear, Magdalene is a very happy big sister too! We can't wait to meet Ruth soon. :-)

Caught being good!

This morning while I was making our breakfast, Philip was really quiet. Thankfully the reason was that he was being good! He loves to color these days and it is such a joy to find him "working" so hard at it.

A Kinder Egg

I know that it is Lent and having a chocolate egg is a little premature, but we were at the grocery store and in order to use my coupon I had to spend $75 and the bill was at $74. So the Kinder Egg covered the difference. Philip could not stop talking about it all day long, but he had to wait until Daddy went to choir practise before he got to enjoy the egg.

Of course it crumpled when he tried to eat the whole thing but he was still in heaven! I didn't mind so much myself!

And then to make things even more exciting, there was a toy inside!!!Philip really loves his "little organ" and Mike thinks that it is the greatest thing ever.

Feeling Better

Well we are all feeling a bit better today. Still rather weak but tomorrow I think that we will be able to carry out our regular activities. Philip is quite the trooper and he was back to playing with his trains today.  Glad that everyone is finding the blog!

Fevers

Well this weekend we have all been plagued with a fever bug. Here is a shot of Philip and it sums up the way we have all felt.  I think that tomorrow we will be on the mend.

Pretending To Sleep

Here Philip was helping me make the bed last week. He really enjoys pretending to sleep these days. I just think that it is the cutest!

First Hocket Game!

Philip really enjoyed his first hockey game! His godparents had some ticket that they were unable to use and so Philip got the chance to see the game. He quickly learned how to cover his ears during the loud cheers. It was a good time for all!

Rochester Trip

Here is a picture from our trip to Rochester, NY. Philip had a fabulous time at the children's museum.
